P. Wakefield & Co. Ltd. is a small, family-run business that produces handmade garden pottery and accessories for individuals, garden stores, and specialty retailers throughout the United States.

The business relationship between Will and P. Wakefield & Co., Ltd., has evolved considerably over the years. It began almost 15 years ago, when Peter Wakefield Jackson founded Rockdale Union Stoneware, Inc., which became one of the largest makers of custom stoneware in the U.S. At that time, Will served as the company’s CPA, preparing the company’s annual financial statements and providing cost accounting, invoice accounting, and production management services.

In 1997, Peter closed Rockdale Union Stoneware and established P. Wakefield & Co., Ltd., which produces the Guy Wolff pottery line seen in Smith & Hawken catalogs and shops around the country. He renewed his relationship with Will, this time as CFO. In this role, Will oversees all of P. Wakefield’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts. He helped established the company’s accounting system and continues to identify and support improvements to it.

As P. Wakefield grows, so has Will’s role as a strategic financial manager. P. Wakefield now has hundreds of accounts nationwide, and Will is currently working with the company to define sales strategies, help structure its direct and representative sales efforts, and build systems to support that effort.
